Attention adopters seeking an instant love bug, do we have a dog for you! Jakk ARPH #14324 is an 11 year old (DOB 4/24/10) Aussie who spent most of his life with a family who taught him all about love and affection. Sadly, his fairytale ended when he was turned into rescue due to his human dad’s terminal illness.
Despite losing his family Jakk has proven to have nothing but tenderness and trust in his soul. This may be, in part, due to his former training as a therapy dog with TDI (Therapy Dogs International). Everyone who meets him falls instantly in love.
Jakk is fully housetrained, has impeccable house manners and is sweet as sweet can be. He knows all basic commands, walks wonderfully on a leash, and absolutely blossoms when visitors come to the house, including children.
Jakk would be a perfect companion to someone who misses having a dog in the house but does not want to deal with the uncertainties of a young rambunctious pup or a high energy adolescent. Jakk lived as an only dog and does not appreciate the high energy and pushy nature of the other male in his foster home so will ideally be placed as an only or with a lower energy female. He is not a fan of cats, so no kitties for him.
He recently underwent cruciate repair surgery (his other knee was repaired in 2019) and because of rehab will be available prior to Labor Day. Rest assured, the wait will be well worth it as dogs this sweet do not come along every day. Jakk is also on a special food to prevent urinary stones. This is a very easy thing to maintain and does not require any additional work by his adopter.
While a physical fence is preferred, homes without fencing will be looked at on an individual basis. No invisible fencing, please. Jakk is up to date on his vaccinations, has been heart worm tested and is neutered. Jakk is currently being fostered in Suffolk County, Long Island. Contact Pat (aussieresc@aol.com) for further information.
We could not post above the line, so this is our attempt to provide a loving home for Jack. We are two persons who live on 25 acres in rural New Hampshire. We have owned two Aussies in the past and he’d great experiences with them. Both were adults when we adopted them. We have an application on file for adoption which you may have. It was submitted yesterday. Jack would be a perfect match for us. We have been married for more than fifty years, but are healthy and active enough for Jack. We would gladly drive to New York to get him, but would prefer that someone could meet us halfway if our application is accepted. We wouldn’t be able to get him until mid September which corresponds with your statement regarding his readiness. Please respond at either 603 276 9067 or by email jcarrjj@gmail.com. Please give this request serious consideration because both Joanna and I are ready for another beautiful Aussie. Thanks, John Carr (retired professor)
