Having owned two Border Collies, one was a sheep herder the other was a duck herder, I have knowledge of the working/herding mentally. Both dogs won ribbons for herding. Would having a βno fenceβ yard be a deterrent for being a volunteer? I am retired, I have time on my hands and a former paid/volunteer firefighter/EMT for 50 years I understand what is needed to help. Also, I am the type of person who loves to drive so distance and time mean nothing to me. I can drive 6+ hours if needed to pick up animals and transport. My location is Cumberland, Md. I know Virginia very well and know central Pa. well. Thanks to GPS there isnβt any place I cannot find.
Hi!
You can complete a volunteer application. Right now there is no representative in MD but they could forward it to another rep. If you are willing to transport there is a fb group for Aussie transport. https://www.facebook.com/groups/531484643698288/ You can see their info and what their current needs are. They are always looking for help with transport of dogs to foster homes, to forever homes, or from shelters.
Thank you!
